Baden Powell Primary School Logo

Our Playcentre at Baden Powell provides opportunities for creative play, recreation and self-expression in various settings. Many of the play activities help children acquire the skill, knowledge and understanding which will be helpful to them at home, school and the communities in which they live.

Your children will discover new things, experiment and practise with new ideas and develop new skills, which will ultimately build their confidence and self-esteem.

Typical activities include art and crafts, board games, free play, sports, outdoor games, music, drama and cookery.

What time does the Playcentre start?

The Play centre will start at 3.20 pm and end at 6.00 pm sharp.

What is the cost per Playcentre session?

The service cost will be £7 until 5 pm and £10 up to 6 pm. All payments need to be made via the school online payments system Scopay.

Don’t hesitate to contact the main office if you need a login for your Scopay account.

If your child is collected late from Playcentre without prior agreement from the Lead Mentor, Deputy Headteacher or Head Teacher, you will incur a late fee of £5 every 5 minutes after 6.00 pm.

For example, if your child is collected at 6:05 pm, your late payment charge will be £5; if your child is collected at 6.10 pm, the late payment charge will be £10 and so on.

All late fees will need to be paid in full before your child can re-access the service.

Please be aware that if there is continuous lateness with the collection of your child, we may have no alternative but to withdraw your child from the service. For example, suppose your child is collected late more than twice the term without communication or a valid reason.

In that case, the Lead Learning Mentor may withdraw your child from the service, and you will need to attend a meeting with the Lead Learning Mentor to discuss the matter before your child can re-attend the service.
